As JW Vending approaches its 21st birthday, the company is celebrating netting a substantial piece of new business – and we are at the heart of it. They say that if you stick at it, hard work and dedication eventually pay off and to prove the point, John Worgan’s Bristol-based JW Vending recently landed it’s the largest and most prestigious contract, in its 21st year of trading. ‘It was very satisfying to be awarded the business, John told PV. ‘In a single deal, we’ve increased our machine park by almost 15%. On top of that, the contract has given us the opportunity to embrace the very latest in drinks dispensing technology. We’re installing state of the art machines from Coffetek … Read More
Our own Janet Wright and her husband John have accepted a challenge that will take them both to the limit of their physical resources. The challenge for the rest of us is to back them all the way … FROM ROB LITTLE, MD, VENDMAN It wasn’t too hard for me to admit to myself that my days of climbing serious mountains were over: when I took a close look at what was involved in The Point Foundation Charity Trek, I just had to hold up my hands… But that’s not to say that Vendman won’t be taking part. On the contrary, we’ll be represented on the trek by Janet Wright, our Office Manager, and her husband, John. You can find … Read More
We may have been conspicuously absent from AVEX: nevertheless, 2015 has been a busy one for Vendman on the exhibition front. Our expansion depends upon winning new business in continental Europe; that’s why we’ve exhibited at EuVend in Cologne and EVEX in Spain this year – and Venditalia is pencilled-in for 2016. ‘EuVend in particular was a great success’, Rob, our MD, said. ‘We’ve been there before as a company, but this was the first time we’d taken a stand in our own right and we were very pleased that we did. ‘Cologne is a great location, because it’s a stunning city and it attracts visitors from all over Europe. There was a tremendous buzz around the exhibition from the … Read More
The amazing news is that our in-house racehorse, Mr. Vendman, trained by Ian Williams, has been declared ‘fit and ready to compete again’. Amazing? It’s not long since the four-year old was diagnosed with a broken pedal bone… Despite many recent advances in veterinary care, the outlook is often hopeless when a horse breaks a bone in its leg. At best, it’s difficult and expensive to repair and the horse has to be retired. At worst, the animal has to be destroyed. Even if the horse survives and is sound, there is always cause for concern that it will never return to the same level of work it was at before the injury. Ian Williams explained: ‘The horse’s foot … Read More
Once again, Vendman is delighted to announce that it has agreed a sponsorship deal for another year with Dave Newsham and his new team Power Maxed Racing. We’ll all be following Dave with keen interest this year after his excellent performances in 2014. Here are a few pictures from the year.
Well folks, the ‘will we, won’t we?’ days are over. We toyed with the idea of moving our HQ to bigger premises, but after giving it a lot of thought, we’ve decided that 2-6 London Road – the ‘Bat Cave’ – will remain our home for the foreseeable future. The property belongs to the company, so instead of upping sticks we’ll invest in the building by making some fundamental changes to the interior that are designed to make us fit to go forward into the future. Without giving too much away, it’s not so much a refurbishment as a re-invention of the space: walls will be replaced by glass or removed altogether, we’ll re-model with carpets and furniture in our … Read More
Or rather, Rob Little hopes that Vendman’s newly-appointed Centres of Excellence will support the forthcoming ‘In Pursuit of Excellence’ symposia, by sharing their own understanding of ‘excellence’ with delegates and by inviting interested businesses to visit them, ‘to see how it’s done’. In the next eighteen months we’ll be taking to the road conducting regional symposia on the theme ‘In Pursuit of Excellence.’ Following on the heels of our inaugural ‘Centres of Excellence’ get-together at Northcote, the planned events will continue the theme of excellence: what it means and how it can be achieved. MD Rob Little hopes that those customers already confirmed as ‘Centres of Excellence’ will play a full part in the project as ‘In Pursuit of … Read More

Following on from our post last month where we discussed Paper Cups versus Plastic we were delighted to receive this communication from RPC Tedeco-Gizeh. They have this to say about plastic cups in vending and we reproduce it in full.
Daniel Hamby wonders if the dash to paper vending cups is justified. Ten or so years back, paper vending cups were barely on the agenda, in fact to find them, a buyer would need to be pretty determined in his search.
