Our MD, Rob Little, recently met up with Planet Vending Editor Ian Reynolds-Young to discuss our notable absence from exhibiting this year at AVEX. Many of our clients will be aware that we thought long and hard about taking part. Vendman has been staunch supporters of the AVA for many years, sponsoring awards, events and ensuring that there was always at least one representative at AVA meetings. We sponsored the Route Operator Award again this year – congratulations go to Lisa Blythe of Snacktime. However, after the last AVEX we had to consider the best use of our marketing spend and in the end we decided to invest further in our Centres of Excellence initiative which was launched last year … Read More
We’re backing The Vendies 2015 by sponsoring the category ‘Best Route Operator’ at the industry’s blue-ribband event, which will be held at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel in June. It’ll come as no surprise to our colleagues in the vending industry that the company offering the country’s most trusted and most widely-used route optimisation software – that’s us! – is supporting the search to identify the country’s most optimized route manager! As a company always aiming to achieve excellence, it’s important for us celebrate excellence in individuals and the Vendies present us with the ideal opportunity to do just that. Get your entries in fast, and may the best Vendman or Vendwoman win!
Or rather, Rob Little hopes that Vendman’s newly-appointed Centres of Excellence will support the forthcoming ‘In Pursuit of Excellence’ symposia, by sharing their own understanding of ‘excellence’ with delegates and by inviting interested businesses to visit them, ‘to see how it’s done’. In the next eighteen months we’ll be taking to the road conducting regional symposia on the theme ‘In Pursuit of Excellence.’ Following on the heels of our inaugural ‘Centres of Excellence’ get-together at Northcote, the planned events will continue the theme of excellence: what it means and how it can be achieved. MD Rob Little hopes that those customers already confirmed as ‘Centres of Excellence’ will play a full part in the project as ‘In Pursuit of … Read More

After another successful AVEX, we at Vendman Towers have had a chance to reflect on the events of AVEX 2013. The stand was many months in the planning and several themes presented themselves during brainstorming sessions; a couple so good that we’ve banked them for another time. So watch this space!
Talking to Vendman’s Rob Little, you’d be forgiven for thinking it might be… No discussion about integrated control systems and their impact upon the vending industry past, present and future would be complete without a contribution from Rob Little. Arguably the pioneer of software in the UK , Rob founded Vendman in 1993. Today, the company dominates the domestic market.
They tell a rather unkind story about John Broderick Senior at Manchester Vending. Apparently, when the company was relocating to its smart Head Office near Manchester airport, the top logistical priority was to position the ‘The Old Man’ so that he could have a clear view of the aircraft. This, the story goes, was to give Mr. B. Senior ‘something to do…’
There was an advertising slogan once that went like this: ‘the answer’s yes, now what’s the question?’ Look no further; there’s no other phrase comes even close to crystallising the business ethos at Options Management. Their outlook here is not so much ‘can do’, as ‘will do.’
